Sarah J. Maas has once again woven a captivating tale that effortlessly transports readers into a world of magic, intrigue, and unforgettable characters. ‘House of Sky and Breath’ delivers on every front, from its richly detailed world-building to its heart-pounding plot twists. Even though I knew about the plot twist at the end (ya girl reads ahead sometimes, sue me!), Maas still managed to blow me away on other plot twists. Her impeccable writing keeps you on the edge of your seat, unable to put the book down. The intricate relationships between the characters add depth and emotion to an already engrossing story, Day and Night’s love story being my favourite this book. Fans of the series will not be disappointed, and newcomers will be hooked from the very first page. ‘House of Sky and Breath’ is a masterpiece of fantasy literature, and Sarah J. Maas proves once again why she is a master storyteller.
My only complaint would be that this book felt unnecessarily long. There felt like there was so much filler and so many unnecessary side plots included. Like maaaybe SJM is making her books long just for the sake of making her books long. Regardless of that, it still did not stop this book from being a whopping 5/5 stars!
