I absolutely loved this book! It’s such a gripping and exhilarating ride from start to finish, with a unique world, complex characters, and intense action sequences that kept me on the edge of my seat. Not to mention it’s hilarious! Spensa is fiery and determined, and her journey of self-discovery and perseverance resonated deeply with me.

Sanderson balanced the high-octane space battles with thoughtful moments of character development and deeper themes like overcoming prejudice and finding one’s identity. The world-building is fascinating, especially with the mystery of the Krell, making it hard to put the book down.

Spensa’s personality is a bit brash at times, but that only makes her growth throughout the story more rewarding. The pacing is spot-on, and the blend of action, humour, and heart is everything I could hope for in a sci-fi novel.

If you’re a fan of sci-fi with a strong lead, plenty of twists, and a plot that keeps you guessing, Skyward is definitely worth reading. It’s an epic start to what promises to be an incredible series!
