⭐️⭐️✨
Wish is a Disney offering that sadly feels more like a fleeting shooting star than a lasting wish come true. While it delivers some heartfelt moments, the story and characters struggle to capture the timeless magic of Disney classics.

The Story:
Set in the magical kingdom of Rosas, Wish follows Asha, a young dreamer who teams up with a literal star to fight against an oppressive ruler. The premise has potential, but the execution feels rushed, leaving little time for emotional investment in the characters or their journey.
What Works:
- Heartfelt Message: The film’s themes of hope and resilience are uplifting, making it a feel-good watch for younger audiences. It’s also occasionally funny.
What Doesn’t Work:
- Flat Characters: Asha is likable but lacks depth, and the supporting cast feels underdeveloped, leaving the emotional beats feeling hollow. I mean she has 7 friends and there’s really just no time to get attached to any of them.
- Predictable Plot: The story sticks to a familiar Disney formula, offering few surprises or fresh takes on the “follow your dreams” narrative.
- Pacing Issues: The film rushes through key moments, making it difficult to fully connect with the stakes or celebrate the triumphs.

Final Thoughts:
Wish is a perfectly fine family film, but it doesn’t soar to the heights of Disney’s best. It’s very unlikely to leave a lasting impression, unless the impression is just… bad.
Would I recommend it? Sure, if you’re looking for a light-hearted movie for the kids, but I’d much rather introduce them to a golden oldie. Did you know there’s some kids who haven’t seen Toy Story? Absolutely shocking. Anyway, this movie left me wishing for something a bit more.
